Jules Cafe & Deli Ltd sits quietly on Ruddington’s High Street, offering a straightforward and approachable spot for daily coffee runs and casual meals. This is primarily a café with a deli twist, where locals seem to appreciate its no-fuss approach to breakfast, lunch, and afternoon treats.

Visitors often drop in during weekday mornings or lunch breaks to grab a solid cooked breakfast, including vegetarian and gluten-free options that attract a diverse crowd—from local workers seeking a reliable start to the day, to walkers out with dogs, thanks to its pet-friendly policy. The warm welcome from staff and the steady flow of friendly faces create a relaxed atmosphere without feeling rushed or crowded.

The menu reflects classic comfort with fresh touches: jacket potatoes topped with straightforward fillings like cheese, beans, or tuna mayo make for satisfying but uncomplicated meals. Meanwhile, sweet offerings such as brownies with ice cream or a chocolate fondant are visible behind the glass counter, tempting visitors to linger or take something home.

Seating inside is ample, making it a comfortable stop whether you want to settle in with a coffee and a book or catch up with friends mid-morning. Its clean, if occasionally lived-in, facilities—including baby changing—show attention to everyday needs of the neighborhood. Prices feel reasonable against the portion sizes and level of service, with wait times generally short enough for a quick break.

In sum, Jules Cafe & Deli operates as an unpretentious local hub, ideal for anyone prioritizing good coffee, hearty breakfasts (vegetarian and gluten-free included), and a friendly atmosphere on a quiet stretch of Ruddington’s main street. The perfect time to visit seems to be mid-mornings or early afternoons when the café buzzes with familiar faces and the smell of freshly brewed coffee.

Really handy on the high street. It was my second visit for the breakfast. Good food, good service, reasonable price and wait times. Good selection of cakes on display behind a glass counter. Plenty of seating, or can take out. Clean toilet facilities with baby changing. Was just a little untidy on my visit.

We had read good reviews so travelled to find out if they were warranted. Yes! Good all round: food, drink and service in nice surroundings. A lovely cafe to just drop into for lunch and drinks. My food intolerances were efficiently accomodated with advice on alternatives. We had a full English and a jacket potato for our two lunches. The full English included fried bread (now a rarity) as well as all the normal bits and pieces (the fried eggs were just right, firm but with runny yolks). The jacket potato was big, was good to eat throughout, the topping was generous and the salad nice. Two accompanying coffees were tasty and hot. All organised by Ruby who took the orders and served them in an efficient manner. (Thank you Ruby!) We plan to return.
